Silvio Horta, an American screenwriter, and director will discuss transforming the Colombian soap opera Yo soy Betty, la fea into ABC’s Ugly Betty. “Like most of us up here, Betty is an immigrant, and The American Dream is alive and well, and within reach of anyone who wants it,” he said of the Golden Globe for Best Satire Series-Ugly Betty. Silent H Productions, named after the first ten Cuban-Americans, is frequently mispronounced as a satirical reference to their last name.
