King George V and Mary of Teck had six children between 1894 and 1905, however, one of them died before reaching adulthood. Following the death of their eldest son, King George V, King Edward VIII inherited the throne until 1937, when he resigned as King. Following this, King Georg VI, King Edward VII’s younger brother, ruled for nearly 15 years. He and his wife, Queen Elizabeth, had two daughters during this time, Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margret.

Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, the Duke, and Duchess of York’s eldest daughter were born on April 21, 1926. (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth). Her parents had another daughter, Princess Margaret, four years after she was born. During her adolescence, she and her sister did not accompany their parents on any royal tours since their father believed they were too young.
